ABOUT THE COMPANY


Our client is a reputable Freight Forwarder who specialise in Import, Export & Coastal Sea Freight cargoes, Warehousing & Distribution and Customs Brokerage services.


ABOUT THE ROLE


Our client is looking for an experienced General Manager who will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of the business. The role will be based in Christchurch and report to the Managing Director. This role oversees operational leaders across freight forwarding, customs, transport, warehousing, compliance, finance, customer service, and technology to ensure the business achieves its services, compliance, and profitability objectives. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem solving. High level of adaptability to manage change with strong committment to health, safety and environmental standards.


ABOUT YOU


  • Our ideal candidate will have solid General/Operational Management experience to oversee the entire supply chain, including, transportation and distribution and of course have the below attributes; Financial Oversight – develop and manage budgets, forecasts, monitor KPI’s
  • Team Leadership & Develop – lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management – maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and service providers
  • Technology & Innocation – leverage technology to enhance logistics efficiency
  • Risk & Compliance Management – ensure compliance with national and international logistics regulations
  • Strong understanding of freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution operations
  • Have a “can do” attitude and get stuck in with the team and lead by example when required
