At the Central Otago District Council, our work is grounded in a shared purpose — strengthening our communities and supporting the future of this remarkable region. As the local authority for Central Otago, we provide essential services such as roading, water, wastewater, waste management, and community facilities including parks, libraries, and recreational spaces, helping ensure our district remains safe, connected, and vibrant. We also uphold important regulatory responsibilities, from building and resource management to environmental health and dog control, supporting sustainable development and community wellbeing across the district. Guided by our values and our whakataukī — Me manaaki tētahi ki tētahi, me pakihiwitahi te tū – kia haere tahi ai tātou — we strive to respect one another and stand shoulder to shoulder with our communities, so we can move forward on this journey together.
