Electrical Trade Assistants


Location: Waikato Region

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour

Contract Type: Ongoing Temporary Opportunities


About the Role


Stellar Recruitment is seeking reliable and hardworking Electrical Trade Assistants to join busy commercial and industrial projects across the Waikato region.


We are keen to hear from experienced Electrical Trade Assistants as well as candidates who hold a New Zealand Limited Electrical Licence and are looking to further develop their skills on a variety of projects. Working alongside qualified electricians, you'll assist with the installation of electrical systems while maintaining high safety standards.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Cable pulling and cable laying
  • Installation of cable tray, brackets and support systems
  • Light, power and data rough-ins
  • Reading and interpreting plans and drawings
  • Measuring and positioning installation reference points
  • Operating hand and power tools
  • Assisting with electrical installations under supervision
  • Conducting pre-start equipment checks
  • Maintaining site safety and compliance requirements


About You


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Trade Assistant or Electrical Labourer
  • A New Zealand Limited Electrical Licence (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • A valid Site Safe passport
  • Reliable transport and a valid driver's licence
  • Valid working rights in NZ (Citizen, Permanent Resident or Resident visa)
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
