Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with heavy industrial maintenance experience? This Drury role needs your skills.


Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter Welder to join a well-established quarry operation in Drury.

You'll be part of a skilled maintenance team keeping heavy plant and fixed equipment running safely and efficiently.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable diagnosing breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and getting stuck into fitting, fabrication and welding work.


Location: Drury, Auckland

Start date: ASAP

Pay rate: $32.00–$34.00 per hour (Weekly pay)

  • What You'll Be DoingCarry out mechanical fitting, fabrication and welding on heavy plant
  • Diagnose faults and complete mechanical breakdown repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Inspect and repair conveyors, crushers, screens and other fixed plant
  • Assist with planned shutdowns and major maintenance work
  • Read engineering drawings and complete required maintenance records
  • Follow site procedures and maintain high health and safety standards
  • What We're Looking ForNZQA Level 4 Mechanical Engineering qualification or recognised overseas equivalent – essential
  • Proven experience as a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter Welder
  • Experience in quarrying, mining, heavy industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Strong mechanical fitting, fabrication and welding skills
  • Experience maintaining conveyors, crushers, screens or similar fixed plant
  • Confident reading engineering drawings, fault-finding and working independently
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to safe, quality workmanship
  • Work ConditionsMonday to Friday roster
  • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required
  • Workshop and outdoor quarry environment
