About the role


As a Certified Drainlayer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality drainage and civil construction works as part of our Whangarei Construction team. Your day-to-day duties will include:


  • Installing drainage pipelines, sumps, and associated infrastructure
  • Operating excavators and other earthmoving plant
  • Carrying out earthworks, road construction, and maintenance activities
  • Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Completing daily plant inspections and maintenance checks
  • Monitoring productivity and supporting successful project delivery
  • Maintaining accurate records, including timesheets and plant utilisation
  • Working safely and identifying hazards to protect your team and the public


About you


  • Certified Drainlayer qualification
  • 5+ years' experience in drainage installation, earthworks, or civil construction


PGDB certification


  • Strong understanding of drainage and infrastructure construction practices
  • Ability to read plans and construction drawings
  • Experience operating excavators and other civil construction plant
  • Class 2 NZ Driver Licence with WTR endorsement preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
