RB Recruitment is proud to partner with our client in the search for an experienced Project Manager to join their Dunedin team.


A well-established New Zealand civil construction business with a history dating back to 1950, our client delivers a broad range of civil and infrastructure projects across the South Island. Known for a practical, people-focused approach, this multi award-winning business combines strong project delivery with a genuine commitment to safety, quality and the communities it works within.


This is an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of civil construction projects across Dunedin and the wider Otago region. The role will suit a commercially astute and hands-on project professional who enjoys being close to the action. Working alongside site teams, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders, the Project Manager will be responsible for keeping projects moving from initial planning through to successful completion.


Key areas of responsibility will include:


  • Managing civil construction projects from mobilisation through to completion
  • Developing programmes and ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards
  • Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and resources
  • Monitoring project costs, progress, variations and financial performance
  • Managing project documentation, reporting and contractual requirements
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
  • Identifying project risks and taking proactive steps to resolve issues
  • Supporting a strong culture of health, safety, environmental responsibility and quality
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across project delivery


YOU’LL BRING:


RB Recruitment is looking for someone with a solid background in civil construction project management , ideally with at least five years' experience in a similar position.


  • Proven experience managing civil construction projects
  • Strong commercial and contract management capability
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction methodologies and site delivery
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to lead teams and build effective stakeholder relationships
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
  • A genuine commitment to health, safety and quality
  • A current New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand
