About the role


We’re seeking a Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join a busy production team. You’ll be responsible for keeping machinery running smoothly through fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and fast breakdown repairs.


Job Details


  • Immediate start
  • Based in Mangere
  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:00am to 3:30pm
  • $30 to $35 an hour (depending on experience)
  • 2 month assignment


Duties


  • Carry out mechanical fault-finding and diagnostics
  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Repair production machinery breakdowns promptly
  • Replace bearings, belts, chains, and worn components
  • Assemble and install kit-set equipment
  • Complete basic fabrication and welding tasks
  • Read and follow mechanical drawings and instructions
  • Use hand and power tools safely in NZ work standards


Skills & Experience

  • Trade Qualified: Level 4 or equivalent
  • NZ Cert in Mechanical Eng. (Maintenance) or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ maintenance fitting experience
  • Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills
  • Safe, competent use of hand and power tools in NZ


Requirements


  • Must pass pre-employment checks ie. drug test, MOJ report
  • Must have two contactable work references
  • Must be eligible to work in NZ
  • Must be available for the full two month assignment
