We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to appoint a Senior Audit Manager – Technology into its Internal Audit function.


Based in Auckland, this is a senior leadership role providing independent assurance over the organisation's technology environment and helping strengthen governance, risk management and control effectiveness.


You'll lead complex technology audits spanning cyber security, cloud infrastructure, applications, data and major technology transformation programmes, providing senior leaders and Board-level stakeholders with clear, risk-focused insight into the issues that matter most.


This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional audit delivery and play a meaningful role in influencing technology risk, control effectiveness and the evolution of Internal Audit within a large and sophisticated organisation.


You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading medium to high-complexity technology audits across cyber security, cloud, infrastructure, applications, data and major transformation programmes.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of technology risk management, governance and controls.
  • Providing independent, risk-focused assurance and practical recommendations to senior management and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Partnering with Technology, Risk and Business stakeholders to identify, assess and mitigate key risks.
  • Challenging senior stakeholders constructively and building strong relationships across the organisation.
  • Using data analytics and digital audit tools to enhance audit quality and identify meaningful insights.
  • Managing audit engagements within agreed budgets, timeframes and Internal Audit methodology.
  • Ensuring significant issues, emerging risks and audit progress are communicated effectively to senior audit leadership.
  • Leading, coaching and developing audit team members through complex engagements.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of Internal Audit practices, methodologies and capabilities.


We're looking for a senior technology audit or assurance professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the confidence and credibility to operate at a senior level.


You'll ideally bring:

  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CISA, CIA, CA or equivalent.
  • Deep experience in Technology Audit, Technology Risk or Technology Assurance, gained within a large organisation, financial services environment or professional services firm.
  • Strong knowledge of technology controls, cyber security, cloud platforms, infrastructure and application risk.
  • Proven experience leading complex audits, assurance reviews or risk assessments across large-scale technology environments or transformation programmes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capability, with the ability to identify the risks that matter and translate them into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively at a senior level.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing audit professionals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
