Job Description

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Civil Labourer to join a well-established civil and drainage contractor in Hastings.

If you’re physically fit, safety-focused and already have experience working on civil sites, we want to hear from you.


Location: Hastings, Hawke’s Bay

Start date: October

Pay rate: $25–$30 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly


  • What you’ll be doingAssisting experienced tradespeople and civil crews on site
  • Supporting general civil and drainage works
  • Handling materials, equipment and tools safely
  • Assisting with site preparation and general labouring duties
  • Keeping work areas tidy, organised and safe
  • Completing physically demanding tasks throughout the day
  • Following site instructions and Health & Safety procedures
  • What we’re looking forPrevious civil construction experience
  • Physically fit and strong with a hands-on attitude
  • Excellent Health & Safety awareness
  • Comfortable working outdoors in active civil environments
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions
  • Willing to work as part of a busy site team
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
