The Venue

Amano Bakery is a bakery that uses authentic, artisanal baking techniques from Europe and showcases them using NZ grains. Each loaf is handcrafted, made fresh every day. Hence, Amano - Inspired by the Italian phrase "by hand". Our emphasis is on sustainable, seasonal, locally-sourced food. Sourdoughs, ciabattas and miche loaves sit alongside pastries, tarts, slices and large seasonal cakes. And lunch at Amano Bakery includes traditional Italian pizza. Seasonal ingredients, long fermented by the slice, hot out of the oven.


The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Baker to join our team!! Ideally you will have 2-3+ years experience and/or a trades qualification in a comparable role, be competent in hand moulding and traditional techniques and have an understanding of French and Italian bread products. You will also have the flexibility to work weekends and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the quality execution of all bakery offerings, including croissants, doughnuts, and other baked goods
  • Packing orders for wholesale delivery
  • Stock management including, ordering, receipting, storing, rotation and wastage
  • Assisting in the development of junior team members
