About the role:


Based in our Christchurch office, this role will support the delivery of consistent, transparent and commercially sound procurement across assigned spend categories. Working with experienced procurement leaders, internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will contribute to sourcing activities, supplier management and continuous improvement initiatives.


Key responsibilities:


  • Support the implementation of procurement and category plans for assigned direct-spend categories.
  • Assist with commercial analysis, cost-saving initiatives and tracking of agreed procurement benefits.
  • Support supplier onboarding, performance reviews, relationship management and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, pricing information and supplier data.
  • Work closely with operational, quality, technical, finance and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Promote compliant procurement processes, consistent ways of working and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Monitor relevant supply-market developments and identify potential cost, supply or supplier risks.


About you:


You are a practical and motivated procurement professional who is ready to take greater ownership while continuing to learn. You communicate clearly, pay attention to detail and enjoy working with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.


  • Packaging and Ingredient experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, dairy, FMCG or a regulated manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience supporting sourcing, quotations, tenders, supplier negotiations or contract administration.
  • Sound analytical skills, with confidence using Excel and working with pricing or spend data.
  • Good organisation and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • A solutions-focused mindset, commercial awareness and willingness to learn.
  • 5 years experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or a related commercial role is preferable, if you only have 2- 3 years' experience and are willing to learn with a can-do attitude, we’d love to hear from you too.
