Job Description

Drainage Crew Member


Join a busy civil contractor working on drainage and underground infrastructure projects across Wellington. Multiple roles qwith multiple clients available


Location: Wellington

Start date: Immediate start available

Pay rate: $28–$35 per hour


Key Responsibilities


  • Install stormwater, wastewater, and water main pipelines
  • Excavate and prepare trenches for pipe installation and drainage works
  • Lay, align, and connect pipes to project specifications
  • Assist with manhole, culvert, and catchpit installation
  • Backfill, compact, and reinstate work areas once installations are complete
  • Work safely around excavators and other heavy machinery
  • Read site plans and follow instructions from supervisors
  • Carry out general labouring duties to support the drainage crew
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised worksite while following health and safety requirements


What You'll Need


  • Previous drainage or civil construction experience
  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements advantageous)
  • Confined Space or ConstructSafe certification is beneficial
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors
  • Strong work ethic with a reliable, team-focused attitude
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
