The Opportunity


We're looking for a Graduate or Junior Project Engineer to join our team in East Auckland.


You'll be supporting a strong pipeline of electrical-for-mechanical and electrical-for-refrigeration projects across Auckland and throughout New Zealand. Working closely with our Project Management team, you'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle - from tender and design through to procurement, construction and final handover.


This is a genuine opportunity to take on real responsibility early in your career, work directly with clients and industry professionals, and build practical experience across a wide range of projects.


What You'll Be Doing


Design & Engineering:


  • Assist with CAD and Revit-based drawing, design and documentation for tendered and live projects.
  • Support Project Managers and construction teams with engineering analysis, design concepts and technical documentation.
  • Assist with electrical design across a range of mechanical and refrigeration projects.
  • Help develop practical engineering solutions to support project delivery.


Estimating & Procurement:


  • Assist with preparing tenders and quotations, including construction and material cost estimates.
  • Carry out quantity surveying, material take-offs and supplier pricing.
  • Support procurement activities and coordination with suppliers and subcontractors.


Project Delivery:


  • Support projects throughout their full lifecycle, from initial scope and planning through to construction, commissioning and final handover.
  • Assist with project coordination, technical documentation and completion records.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, site teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Build strong working relationships through consistent communication and quality delivery.


About You


You're a practical and proactive engineer who enjoys solving problems and seeing projects come to life.


You'll be comfortable working with a range of people and keen to learn from experienced Project Managers and tradespeople. You take ownership of your work, communicate well and enjoy being involved in the practical side of project delivery - not just sitting behind a desk.


Most importantly, you're eager to learn, develop your skills and take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.


You'll Bring:


  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with CAD and/or Revit-based design and drawing development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to engineering.
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work.
