Mō te tūranga | About the role

As a Software Specialist - Testing, you'll play a key role in delivering quality, reliability, and performance across critical customer-facing platforms. Working within a high-performing squad in Customer Tribe, you'll help shape testing and automation practices, ensuring our applications are resilient, scalable, and deliver great customer outcomes.

You'll bring specialised expertise in test automation and quality engineering, partnering with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to shape testing strategies, improve delivery quality, and embed best practice across the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and scenarios aligned to business and technical requirements.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance automated and manual test solutions.
  • Deliver functional, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing activities.
  • Build and support test automation frameworks and CI/CD quality practices.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation activities for system and data change initiatives.
  • Identify, analyse, and manage defects through to resolution.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support testing, quality assurance, and solution sign-off.
  • Champion quality engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the squad.

You'll bring deep expertise in test automation and quality engineering, with the ability to articulate technology trade-offs, influence technical decisions, and challenge ways of working to continuously improve delivery outcomes.

Your positivity, approachable nature, and excellent communication skills enable you to share your knowledge with others and actively contribute to building capability wherever you go.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience across both automated and manual testing in complex technology environments.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
  • Expertise in functional, integration, API, end-to-end, performance, and data validation testing.
  • The ability to define testing strategies, plans, reporting, and quality practices.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams and modern engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation within delivery workflows.
  • Experience mentoring team members and championing testing standards, best practice, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience testing SaaS, cloud-based, and enterprise-scale applications.
  • SQL and relational database testing experience.

In addition, the following would be an advantage:

  • Salesforce or CRM platform testing experience.
  • Performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Financial services or banking experience.
  • ISTQB certification.
