Job Description

About the Role

This is not a traditional recruitment position. The successful candidate will work closely with our clients' Shift Leaders and Supervisors on a daily basis to ensure they have the right people, in the right place, at the right time.

You will become an important link between our onsite casual workforce, our clients and our Account Management team, helping ensure daily production requirements are met and any staffing issues are communicated and resolved quickly.

With peak season approaching and a high volume of candidates and casual workers to manage, we are looking for someone who is highly organised, confident communicating with people at all levels and able to work calmly in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Working onsite and maintaining strong communication with client Shift Leaders and Supervisors.
  • Visiting production lines and work areas throughout each shift to ensure casual staff have arrived and are working in the correct locations.
  • Monitoring daily staffing requirements and identifying any gaps, changes or adjustments.
  • Communicating attendance, absenteeism, staffing issues and production requirements accurately back to the Trade Assist Account Manager.
  • Responding quickly when staffing issues arise and following the direction of client Shift Leaders and Supervisors.
  • Communicating with existing casual workers regarding shift extensions, changes or additional hours where required.
  • Contacting available workers and candidates to fill vacancies and staffing requirements.
  • Continuing to recruit and build a strong candidate pool to support current and future workforce requirements.
  • Assisting with candidate screening, interviewing and onboarding during quieter periods.
  • Keeping accurate records of workforce movements, attendance and recruitment activity.
  • Ensuring communication between the client, casual workforce and Trade Assist team remains clear, timely and accurate.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is people-focused, organised and proactive, with the confidence to operate independently onsite.

You don't necessarily need years of recruitment experience. What is most important is your ability to communicate effectively, manage competing priorities and take ownership of getting things done.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with clients and workers.
  • Confidence communicating with Shift Leaders, Supervisors and casual employees.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused when staffing issues arise.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to get out on the production floor rather than remain behind a desk.
  • The ability to follow instructions while also recognising when something needs to be escalated.
  • Confidence making phone calls, sending messages and communicating with a large workforce.
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing daily requirements.
  • A genuine willingness to learn recruitment, workforce coordination and onsite operations.

This Role Would Suit Someone Who...

Enjoys being busy, interacting with people and solving problems as they happen.

You may come from a background in recruitment, workforce scheduling, administration, hospitality, customer service, logistics, warehousing or operations. What matters most is that you are reliable, organised, confident and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.

This is a hands-on role where being visible, approachable and responsive is essential.

Why Join Trade Assist?

At Trade Assist, you'll play a key role in supporting our clients and casual workforce during one of the busiest periods of the year.

You'll have the opportunity to develop experience across recruitment, workforce coordination, client relationships and onsite operations, while working as part of a supportive and fast-moving team.

If you're someone who enjoys working with people, thrives under pressure and wants a role where every day is different, we'd love to hear from you.
