Position Summary


We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class 4 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, equipment, and materials while ensuring compliance with all road transport regulations and company policies. The role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.


Key Responsibilities


  • Safely operate Class 4 vehicles in accordance with New Zealand road laws and regulations.
  • Conduct daily pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Load, unload, and secure freight or equipment safely.
  • Complete delivery and collection documentation accurately.
  • Ensure freight is delivered on time and in good condition.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and site personnel.
  • Adhere to customer site requirements and safety protocols.
  • Manage schedules efficiently while maintaining compliance with driving hour regulations.
  • Assist with general yard or warehouse duties when required.


Skills & Experience


  • Current New Zealand Class 4 Driver Licence.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred


  • Dangerous Goods (DG) endorsement.
  • Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Experience operating Hiab cranes or truck-mounted equipment.
  • Previous experience in civil construction, logistics, freight, or transport industries.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift and move items safely.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of climbing in and out of vehicles multiple times throughout the day.
  • Fit and able to perform manual handling tasks when required.
