About the role:


Edit Picton is a stunning hotel located by the harbour, the perfect location to explore the dramatic local coastline and New Zealand wine country. This 49-room boutique hotel has recently been refurbished and is looking for a Night Porter/Housekeeping Attendant to assist with our night guest services and housekeeping operation.


This part-time dual role involves assisting late check-in guests and handling after-hours guest requests for two days per week, and supporting housekeeping operations for three days per week.


Your key responsibilities include:


Night Porter Duties


  • Ensure an efficient and professional reception experience for guests during night shifts
  • Assist with reception duties, including answering phone calls and emails, cashiering, night auditing, and resolving guest requests and complaints.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the Hotel's public areas
  • Set up the Restaurant for breakfast service
  • Ensure that the Front Office Manager/Duty Manager is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and, or, other departments
  • Demonstrate and maintain high level of customer service
  • Follow company brand standards


Housekeeping Duties


  • Clean and service guest rooms and public areas to company standards.
  • Replenish guest amenities, linen, and supplies.
  • Report maintenance issues and lost property.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and storage areas are maintained appropriately.
  • Assist with deep-cleaning tasks as required.


Requirements and Skills:


  • Flexibility to work night shifts (10.30pm to 7.00am) as well as day shifts
  • Physically fit to carry out Housekeeping tasks
  • A positive, reliable, charismatic and can-do attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction
  • Excellent communication skills and strong commands of the English language
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Calm, efficient, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Current eligibility to work in New Zealand
