About the Role

Unite Recruit is seeking an experienced Watercart Operator for a civil construction project in Invercargill.


This is an opportunity to join a project with accommodation provided, daily allowances and flights home every four weeks.


Availability to work through the Christmas and New Year break is essential. Free lunch will be provided during the Christmas break.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Operating a watercart safely and efficiently on a civil construction site.
  • Carrying out dust suppression and supporting earthworks and general site operations.
  • Completing pre-start vehicle checks and reporting defects or safety concerns.
  • Working alongside other operators and civil crews to keep the project running smoothly.
  • Following site instructions and health and safety procedures.


What We're Looking For Current Class 2 driver licence – essential.


  • Class 4 driver licence – preferred.
  • Proven experience operating a watercart on civil construction or earthworks projects.
  • Confidence working around heavy machinery, trucks and ground crews.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to work away from home in Invercargill for the duration of the project.


Must be available to work through Christmas and New Year.


  • Able to commit to the assignment through to mid-February 2027.
