Job Description

BestStart Stokes Valley is looking for a passionate Teacher in Training to join our warm and supportive team. If you love working with tamariki and are keen to grow your teaching practice, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role


This is a permanent position working 24-30 hours per week across 3 or 5 days , with flexibility for the right person.


We’re looking for someone currently studying, or preparing to begin, a Level 7 ECE qualification . You’ll work with tamariki from approximately six months to six years, so you’ll need to be comfortable supporting children across all age groups.

About You


We’re looking for someone who:


  • Is enrolled in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor or Graduate Diploma programme
  • Has a genuine passion for working with tamariki
  • Understands child-led learning and Te Whāriki
  • Is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their practice
  • Is positive, collaborative and eager to learn
