Civil / Stormwater Engineer, Sydney, $90,000 - $130,000 + Super


We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a motivated and technically strong Civil / Stormwater Engineer based in Sydney.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic engineering environment where you will contribute to the design and delivery of innovative stormwater and flood management solutions that support resilient and sustainable infrastructure.


You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to detailed design and delivery, working on a variety of civil and water infrastructure projects. This role offers strong technical exposure, collaboration with experienced engineers, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure outcomes.


We are open to experienced candidates based in Australia or New Zealand who are willing to relocate to Sydney for the right opportunity.

The Role


  • Undertake hydrological and hydraulic modelling for flood risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Design stormwater systems including drainage networks for roads, residential, and public domain projects
  • Contribute to WSUD and water quality / pollutant management solutions
  • Carry out groundwater and subsurface water assessments
  • Develop earthworks models including 3D design, cut and fill analysis
  • Prepare engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Conduct site inspections and technical reporting
  • Liaise with clients, councils, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Contribute to innovative and sustainable stormwater design solutions


About You


  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in stormwater and flood management design
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, and drainage design
  • Proficient in tools such as TUFLOW, Civil 3D, 12d, DRAINS, MUSIC (or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian standards and local authority requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Working towards or holding CPEng / NER registration (preferred)
  • Registered Design Practitioner or willingness to obtain (advantageous)
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
