Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Forklift Mechanic to join a professional team in Christchurch.

About the role

You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing equipment while providing a high standard of technical support and customer service.


Key duties:


  • Diagnostics, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance across a range of forklifts and materials handling equipment
  • Working on counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, and specialist equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Attending field service calls across Christchurch at logistics, manufacturing and industrial sites
  • Completing workshop-based repairs and servicing
  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out repairs efficiently
  • Providing professional technical advice and customer service
  • Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all work meets required standards


What we're looking for


While experience with electric forklifts (IE) is beneficial, the priority is a technician with a strong mechanical foundation and proven diagnostic and repair ability.


  • Diesel Mechanic or relevant automotive/mechanical trade qualification
  • Proven experience working on materials handling or heavy equipment
  • Experience across IC and IE forklifts would be advantageous
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Full, clean driver's licence
  • Strong focus on safety, quality and customer service
  • Positive, professional, and team-oriented approach
