Senior Health & Safety Advisor

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys partnering with operational teams, influencing positive safety outcomes, and creating environments where people go home safe every day.


This is a fantastic opportunity for an established Health & Safety Advisor who is looking to step into a Senior Health & Safety Advisor position and further develop their career within a dynamic, high-risk operational environment.


Supporting multiple sites across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, you'll play a key role in driving safety culture, risk reduction initiatives, compliance, and continuous improvement.


About the Role


Reporting into the National Health & Safety Manager, you'll work closely with site leaders and operational teams to provide practical, solutions-focused Health & Safety support.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Leading risk assessments and hazard management initiatives
  • Conducting site audits, inspections and compliance reviews
  • Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Driving corrective and preventative actions
  • Partnering with leaders to build a positive safety culture
  • Supporting injury management and return-to-work programmes
  • Assisting with ACC Accredited Employer Programme (AEP) processes
  • Monitoring safety performance and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Developing and delivering safety training and coaching
  • Supporting contractor management and compliance activities


What We're Looking For


We're interested in talking to candidates who bring:


  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role
  • Experience working in manufacturing, food production, construction, logistics, engineering, agriculture or other high-risk environments
  • Strong risk assessment and hazard management experience
  • Audit and compliance experience
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis capability
  • Exposure to ACC injury management and return-to-work processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A practical and collaborative approach to Health & Safety
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualifications
