The Client is one of Australasia's leading providers of drainage maintenance, civil construction, trenchless rehabilitation, CCTV inspection and hydro excavation services. With a strong pipeline of work across Northland, we're looking for an experienced Civil Works Manager / Certified Drainlayer to lead and grow our Civil Division.


This is a senior role for a well-rounded drainage professional who is just as comfortable in front of a client or pricing a tender as they are on-site solving problems. You'll own the commercial, operational and technical performance of the division while keeping direct oversight of day-to-day delivery.


What you'll be doing:


- Leading and growing the Northland Civil Division

- Managing drainage and civil construction projects from enquiry through to completion

- Keeping hands-on oversight of day-to-day project delivery

- Managing supervisors, crews, plant and subcontractors

- Scoping, estimating and pricing projects

- Owning project budgets, forecasting and profitability

- Pricing and negotiating variations

- Building strong relationships with clients, councils and consultants

- Identifying and securing new work

- Acting as Certified Drainlayer for civil and drainage works

- Coaching, mentoring and developing your field teams


What you'll bring:


- NZ Certified Drainlayer Registration (essential know the lingo to keep the lads and lasses moving!)

- Proven experience delivering civil construction and drainage projects

- Strong project, people and budget management experience

- Sharp estimating and pricing capability

- Commercial awareness and genuine business acumen

- Full Class 1 Driver Licence (WTR, Class 2-5 or Traffic Management an advantage)
