Are you an experienced water-blasting Technician looking for a team with a great culture? Or perhaps you're coming from a different industry and ready for something more hands-on?


Blast Away Guys is looking for another great person to join our team based in Whangarei.


This position will initially be fixed-term to help us through our busy peak season, with the potential to become permanent for the right person. You'll travel to jobs across Northland, with occasional work in Auckland.


What you'll be doing:


  • Water blasting houses, commercial buildings, driveways, decks and other exterior surfaces
  • Soft washing buildings and other surfaces
  • Clearing gutters
  • Travelling to residential and commercial properties across Northland, with occasional Auckland work
  • Working safely and confidently at heights and on roofs
  • Following our health and safety procedures
  • Looking after your own ute, equipment and water-blasting setup
  • Working independently and managing your time effectively
  • Providing customers with a friendly, helpful experience from beginning to end
  • Producing high-quality work you're genuinely proud to put your name to


What we're looking for


Previous water blasting or soft washing experience would be useful, but it's not essential. We can teach the technical side of the job to the right person.

You'll also need:


  • A full New Zealand driver licence
  • The ability to pass a drug test
  • Good physical fitness and agility
  • Confidence working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • The ability to work safely at heights and on roofs
  • Flexibility around working hours
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand

You'll have your own Blast Away Guys ute and water-blasting setup, fully kitted out and ready to go. There's no sharing equipment or waiting for someone else to finish with it.


You'll work on an impressive variety of properties. One day you might be cleaning a large commercial building. The next, you could be working at an architecturally designed coastal home overlooking the water.


And occasionally, exceptionally happy customers may even make you scones or sandwiches. We can't promise this part, but it does happen when you're really good!


Our hours vary depending on workload, weather and job requirements. Most work is completed Monday to Friday. However, there will be some early starts, occasional evening work and some weekends during busy periods.
