Job Description

AWF is seeking an experienced Duct Fitters to join a busy commercial construction team in Auckland.


This role involves installing ducting systems and associated components on commercial projects. You will be responsible for interpreting plans, assembling and installing ductwork, using hand and power tools, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.


Key Responsibilities


  • Install ducting systems and associated components on commercial construction sites.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Measure, assemble, and fit ductwork in accordance with project requirements.
  • Select suitable materials, installation methods, and work sequences.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Complete quality checks on finished installations.
  • Identify faults and make adjustments where required.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades on site.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
  • Complete all work to a high standard and within project deadlines.


Skills & Experience


To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • Previous experience as a Duct Fitter or in a similar HVAC on site installation role.
  • Experience installing commercial ducting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Competent using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A reliable and safety-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Requirements


  • Own hand tools and power tools required
  • Reliable transport to and from sites
  • Site Safe and MEWP required
  • Ability to pass any required pre-employment checks
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
