Ross Reid Contractors have been in the construction industry since 1954 and have one of the largest fleets of earthmoving and construction equipment. We currently own and operate over 400 items of plant equipment.


We are currently seeking experienced Class 4 Watercart Drivers and Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers to join our Auckland-based team.


Class 4 Watercart Drivers


You will be responsible for the safe operation of watercarts on civil construction and earthworks projects, carrying out dust suppression and water management activities, completing daily vehicle inspections, and working safely around heavy machinery and construction crews.


To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • A current New Zealand Class 4 Driver Licence
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices within an earthworks/civil construction environment
  • Ability to identify hazards and work safely around plant and equipment
  • Ability to work unsupervised with a positive attitude
  • Reliable, punctual and team-focused approach
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to work Saturdays as required



Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers


You will be responsible for operating truck and trailer units within civil construction environments, transporting aggregates, hardfill, topsoil, sand and other construction materials, tipping and spreading metal to specification, and loading and delivering materials between quarries, suppliers and project sites.


To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • A current New Zealand Class 5 Driver Licence
  • Minimum 5 years' proven Truck & Trailer experience within the civil construction industry
  • Extensive experience carting, tipping and spreading aggregates and metal to specification
  • Competent in spreading GAP, AP, basecourse, hardfill, sand, topsoil and other construction materials
  • Sound knowledge of Auckland and Waikato haulage routes, quarries and aggregate suppliers
  • Strong understanding of loading, carting and tipping operations within civil construction environments
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Ability to work unsupervised with a positive attitude
  • Reliable, punctual and team-focused approach
  • Willingness to work Saturdays as required
