Fox Plumbing is growing, the work keeps rolling in, and we're looking for an experienced Maintenance Plumber & Certified Gasfitter to join our crew.

This isn't a role where you'll be stuck on one building site for months on end. You'll be out and about across Auckland, solving problems, meeting customers and tackling a good mix of plumbing and gasfitting work.

Who Are We?


We're Fox Plumbing — a down-to-earth Auckland plumbing team that takes our work seriously, without taking ourselves too seriously.

We cover plumbing, gasfitting, drainage, maintenance, renovations and project work across Auckland.

We like doing things properly, looking after our customers and having a team of good people who can have a laugh while getting the job done.

We're busy, we're growing, and we need another experienced tradie to jump on board.


The Role


This role is all about maintenance plumbing and gasfitting.

One day you might be fault-finding a hot water issue, the next replacing a mixer, sorting a leak, installing a gas appliance or figuring out one of those jobs where the customer tells you:

"It's been doing this weird thing for a while…"

You'll have the freedom to get out there, diagnose the problem and find the right solution.

We need someone who can think for themselves, communicate well and take ownership of their jobs from start to finish.


What You'll Be Doing


Residential and commercial plumbing maintenance.

Plumbing repairs, leaks, hot water systems, fixtures and general fault-finding.

Gas servicing, repairs, fault-finding and installations.

Installing and replacing gas appliances and associated pipework.

Completing required gasfitting documentation and certification.

Attending maintenance call-outs and working out what's actually going on.

Talking with customers and explaining things in normal, easy-to-understand language.

Identifying additional work and feeding information back to the office for quoting.

Using Simpro for times, job notes, photos, job updates and supplier orders.

Keeping your jobs, vehicle and work areas clean and tidy.

Working independently while still being part of the wider Fox team.

Who Are We Looking For?


We want someone who:


Is a NZ Qualified & Registered Plumber with a current practising licence.

Is a Certified Gasfitter with a current practising licence.

Has solid maintenance and fault-finding experience.

Is confident jumping in the van and running their own jobs.

Can think on their feet and come up with practical solutions.

Takes pride in doing a job properly.

Is great with customers and communicates well with the office.

Can write decent job notes and remember to take the photos! 📸

Is reliable, organised and turns up ready to go.

Has a good attitude and works well as part of a team.

Takes health and safety seriously.

Has clean and tidy personal presentation.

The Must-Haves


Current NZ Plumbing & Gasfitting licences.

Valid NZ driver's licence.

Able to drive a manual.

Strong maintenance experience.

Good customer service skills.

Comfortable using a phone/tablet and job management software.

Reliable and able to manage your own workload.

Drainlaying experience? Even better — but not essential.

Can operate a digger? Bonus points — but again, not a deal breaker.

Our office is based in Northwest Auckland, but our team works right across Auckland.

So don't rule yourself out just because you don't live around the corner from the office.
