Job Description

We’re recruiting for a well-established mechanical services contractor delivering HVAC and mechanical projects across Wellington and wider New Zealand. With a strong pipeline of work ahead, they’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team.


This is a senior role where you’ll take projects from contract award through to completion, managing the commercial, technical and operational aspects of delivery while working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.


The Role


You’ll be responsible for managing a variety of commercial mechanical services projects, ranging from smaller fast-paced works through to complex multi-million-dollar developments.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Managing commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from start to finish
  • Project planning, programming and coordination
  • Budget management, forecasting and cost control
  • Procurement of equipment, materials and subcontractors
  • Managing variations and contract administration
  • Building strong relationships with clients and consultants
  • Leading project meetings and site coordination
  • Managing subcontractors and project delivery teams
  • Supporting commissioning, practical completion and handover
  • Working closely with estimating, operations and technical teams
  • Mentoring and supporting junior project staff


What We're Looking For


We’re looking for someone with strong experience delivering commercial HVAC or mechanical services projects who is comfortable taking full ownership of project outcomes.


Ideally, you’ll bring:


  • Proven Mechanical Project Management experience
  • Strong commercial HVAC or building services knowledge
  • Experience delivering complex commercial projects
  • Sound understanding of project financials, contracts and variations
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Confidence dealing with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • A practical approach to problem solving
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A commitment to quality, safety and successful project delivery
