About us:


BestStart Lemon Street is seeking a reliable and caring Caregiver to join our welcoming team on a fixed-term parental leave cover.

About the Role:


This is a fixed-term position supporting our baby room , caring for approximately 20 babies alongside our experienced team.


We’re looking for someone who can slot into the team quickly and provide warm, responsive care during this short-term opportunity. Some childcare experience is preferred, whether formal or informal, and we’re open to considering a first-year Teacher in Training .


This is a 40-hour-per-week position, Monday-Friday, with a mix of opening and closing shifts.


The fixed-term period is 18 January 2027 to 16 July 2027 .


Role requirements:


We’re looking for someone who is:


  • Reliable and dependable
  • Warm, caring and nurturing
  • Confident communicating with children, whānau and the wider team
  • Able to adapt quickly and work well as part of a team
  • Has some childcare experience, either formal or informal
  • Passionate about providing quality care and learning experiences for babies
