About the Role


Are you an organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable professional looking for a permanent opportunity with one of New Zealand's leading dairy exporters? We're looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join the Finance team at Westland Milk Products , where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our accounts payable function.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive, high-performing finance team within a business that has a strong reputation, global reach, and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, supplier payments, employee expenses and credit card reconciliations. You'll maintain supplier records, respond to vendor queries, support payment runs and help ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.

Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance efficiency across the finance function. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, building strong relationships while developing your skills within a complex and dynamic organisation.

You'll bring:

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience or experience in a similar finance or administration role
  • Basic accounting knowledge and/or a relevant qualification (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support others
