Job Description

The Regional Business Administrator provides administrative and financial support for Barnardos Early Learning services at a regional level. In this varied role, you will work alongside a range of people across the business unit.


This is a permanent part time (30 hours per week) opportunity based in Christchurch.


Key responsibilities


  • Payroll processing and support
  • Management of accounts payable and receivables
  • Contribute to service planning and reporting
  • Maintain systems to ensure all personnel records are up to date
  • Organisation and coordination of meetings, travel arrangements, preparation of agendas and meeting papers and minute taking


Skills and experience


You will be an experienced, well-organised, resilient Administrator with strong stakeholder management experience to succeed in this role. You will have:


  • Proven administrative experience (3–5 years), ideally in a senior role.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a strong understanding of administrative systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with accounts and payroll processes, and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in everyday practice.
  • A full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence is essential.
