Job Description

We are looking for a commercially minded and analytical Merchandise Planner to play a key role in driving sales, profit, and inventory performance within our Merchandise team.


As a Merchandise Planner, you will partner closely with Buyers and cross-functional teams to develop financial plans, manage inventory investments, identify trading opportunities, and ensure the right stock is available at the right time to meet customer demand.


You'll use data, insights, and strategic thinking to influence decisions and maximise business performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain seasonal and annual financial plans.
  • Forecast sales, margin, stock, and receipt requirements.
  • Monitor trading performance and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimise availability and stock turn.
  • Provide financial planning and stock management recommendations.
  • Analyse product performance and customer demand trends.
  • Develop promotional and markdown proposals to achieve business objectives.
  • Review and adjust forecasts based on trading performance and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with Buying, Supply Chain, and Store Operations teams to ensure successful execution of plans.
  • Produce regular reporting and insights to support commercial decision-making.


About You


You will be a highly analytical individual who enjoys solving problems and turning data into actionable insights.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning or Retail Planning.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial understanding.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and forecasting abilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Accurate forecasting and effective stock management.
  • Strong partnerships with Buyers and key stakeholders.
  • Identification and execution of commercial opportunities.
  • Continuous improvement of planning processes and reporting.
