Job Description

  • The Company My client is an international technology and consulting business operating in a highly specialised niche. With a presence across Australia and New Zealand, they work with large global organisations to solve complex commercial and operational challenges through technology, data and analytics. The business specialises in interrogating large and complex datasets to provide greater transaction certainty and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and financial outcomes for its clients. They work particularly closely with major retailers and other large organisations across areas such as rebates, credits, payments and transaction processing. The Role This role reports to the Director of Analytics who is based in Australia. It is a varied role combining commercial and financial analysis, data interrogation and stakeholder management. Key responsibilities will include: Reviewing supplier contracts and working with an offshore analytics team to identify relevant data and analytical findings
  • Interpreting and sense-checking the analysis against underlying contract terms, assessing the commercial impact and implications for the client and supplier relationship
  • Working with clients and suppliers to recover identified monies and agree changes to processes, systems and procedures to improve data accuracy and prevent future issues (the consulting part)
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and reporting to support clients based on insights identified through the broader data interrogation process
  • Your Profile We are looking for someone who brings: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and turn findings into practical commercial insights.
  • Strong systems and ERP capability, with confidence navigating different systems, data sources and processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the commercial judgement to sense-check analysis and identify inconsistencies or anomalies.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to understand and follow complex accounting, merchandising and commercial processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships and engage effectively with clients, suppliers and senior executives.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • A high degree of autonomy, with the ability to manage priorities, work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
  • A collaborative approach, working closely with an international analytics team and applying their insights within the local business context.
  • Full training will be provided, including an initial induction with the Melbourne-based finance team, followed by ongoing interaction with the wider international analytics team. Benefits KiwiSaver contributions at 12%
