We are currently seeking reliable and motivated Room Attendants to join our Housekeeping team.


About the Role


As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms and assisting with maintaining clean and presentable public areas throughout the hotel.


This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail and can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Clean and service guest bedrooms, bathrooms and other allocated areas to the required hotel standards.
  • Vacuum, mop, dust and sanitise floors, surfaces and bathroom areas.
  • Make beds and change bed linen, towels and other room linen.
  • Replenish guest amenities, toiletries and room supplies.
  • Ensure guest rooms are presented clean, tidy and ready for arrival.
  • Clean and maintain corridors, public areas and other housekeeping areas as required.
  • Remove rubbish and dispose of waste in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Report maintenance issues, damaged items, lost property or other room issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Follow cleaning schedules, procedures and health, safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Use cleaning equipment and products safely and correctly.
  • Work efficiently to meet daily room cleaning requirements and operational deadlines.
  • Assist other members of the Housekeeping team when required.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful approach when interacting with guests and colleagues.


Skills, Experience and Requirements


  • Atleast 6 months experience in housekeeping, hotel cleaning, commercial cleaning or a similar role is preferred.
  • Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift as required to perform housekeeping duties.
  • A positive attitude and professional approach to work.
  • Willingness to work weekends, public holidays and rostered shifts as required by hotel operations.


Employment Details


Position: Room Attendant

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, with rostered shifts based on hotel operational requirements

Location: Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu Queenstown

Days of work: Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays as required



The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with New Zealand employment legislation and the terms of their employment agreement.
