At New Shoots Children’s Centre, we believe every child deserves a nurturing, inspiring, and safe environment to grow, explore, and thrive. We are currently seeking a passionate and reliable Unqualified Teacher to join our Tauranga team.


New Shoots Tauranga offers a convenient and trusted early childhood centre for busy families, healthcare professionals, and those working nearby. From the moment families arrive, there is a calm and considered approach to transitions, supporting children to settle, connect, and move into their day with ease. Every environment is shaped around how tamariki move, play, and learn throughout their day. It is not just about how a space looks, but how it feels, whether a child is seeking a quiet moment or ready to explore and try something new.


We're looking for an enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher to join our supportive and passionate teaching team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Tamariki. You'll play an important role in supporting children as they develop the skills, confidence, and dispositions needed for a successful transition to school. You'll create engaging learning experiences, build meaningful relationships with tamariki and whānau, and contribute positively to our collaborative teaching culture.

What We’re Looking For


  • A genuine passion for working with young children
  • Experience in planning and documentation
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive, reliable, and proactive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the early childhood sector
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Police Vetting and eligibility to work in New Zealand
