Class 2 Driver / Labourer

We are looking for a reliable Class 2 Driver/Labourer to join a busy hire company in Christchurch.


This is a varied role where you’ll be out on different sites, working with customers and getting stuck into the physical side of the job.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving Class 2 vehicles and towing trailers
  • Installing and dismantling temporary fencing
  • Loading and unloading fencing equipment
  • Accurately recording fencing quantities
  • Servicing and cleaning Portaloos on sites and in the yard
  • General labouring and keeping equipment and work areas tidy
  • Working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Providing good customer service on residential, commercial, demolition and civil sites


What we’re looking for:

  • Full Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
  • Trailer experience is essential
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
  • Reliable, motivated and punctual
  • Good communication skills and a great attitude
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Forklift experience would be an advantage
  • Dangerous Goods licence would be an advantage, but training can be provided
  • Previous fencing experience is beneficial, but full training will be provided


Hours: Monday to Friday, minimum 35 hours per week, with the occasional weekend.


This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors and getting stuck into a hands-on role.
