Senior or Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, Whangārei, $120k-$160k


This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments throughout Northland and the wider North Island.

The Role


You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, delivering geotechnical solutions from investigation through to design and construction support.


  • Planning and undertaking detailed site investigations
  • Delivering geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining walls and ground improvement
  • Supporting residential, commercial and infrastructure projects
  • Undertaking construction monitoring and site inspections
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Mentoring junior engineers where required


About You


  • Relevant engineering qualification (Degree or Diploma)
  • 5–7 years’ NZ geotechnical experience (Northland experience advantageous)
  • Experience across residential, commercial or infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical knowledge in foundations, retaining walls and ground improvement
  • Experience using software such as RocScience, Cliq, CPet-IT or Settle3
  • Working towards CPEng (preferred)
  • Full or restricted NZ driver’s licence
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
