The opportunity


We are looking for trade qualified Diesel Technicians to join a well-established franchise truck dealership in Palmerston North .


This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians seeking stability, strong technical support and the chance to work with leading heavy vehicle brands in a modern, professional workshop.


You'll be part of a skilled team working on a wide range of heavy commercial vehicles, with access to quality equipment, ongoing training and genuine opportunities to develop your career.

Responsibilities


  • Service and maintain a broad range of heavy commercial trucks
  • Complete major and minor mechanical repairs, including COF and accident repairs
  • Diagnose and repair faults using modern electronic diagnostic systems
  • Carry out workshop repairs as well as breakdown attendance and customer call-outs when required


Skills sought


  • Recognised automotive trade qualification, ideally as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Experience working on late-model heavy commercial trucks
  • Strong mechanical and technical capability
  • Confident using electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Clear communication and professional customer service skills
  • Ability to complete modifications and adaptations when required
  • Understanding of transport industry time pressures and the importance of returning vehicles to service efficiently
