The Company

We are pleased to be partnering with a leading global organisation looking for their next Management Accountant to join their New Zealand business.

This established and well-regarded organisation operates across multiple international markets and has a strong presence in New Zealand. With a continued focus on growth, efficiency and operational performance, this is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to join a large and complex business.

The Role

Reporting to the Controller, Manager, this is a commercially focused role with responsibility for cost management, forecasting and business performance. You'll work closely with operational leaders to understand the numbers, identify opportunities and help improve financial performance.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and review third-party and contractor costs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports and forecasts.
  • Analyse variances and identify areas for cost improvement.
  • Support the annual budget, forecasting and reforecasting process.
  • Prepare business cases and financial analysis for new projects and investments.
  • Partner with Operations to set cost targets and track performance.
  • Support month-end reporting, accruals and cost reviews.
  • Maintain the NZ costing system and improve financial reporting.
  • Review processes and controls to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide commercial insight and support to the CFO and wider leadership team.

Your Profile

We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working with the wider business. You'll be confident working with numbers, comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and keen to make a difference beyond traditional accounting.


You'll ideally have:

  • CA, CPA, ACCA or similar qualification.
  • 5+ years' experience in management accounting, costing or commercial finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Strong commercial and business partnering skills.
  • Good Excel and financial systems experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information simply.
  • A proactive approach and an interest in improving processes and reducing costs.
