The opportunity


A highly respected franchise truck group with a strong national presence and decades of experience representing globally recognised heavy vehicle brands.


They are looking for experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join their Wellington service operations.


The role


You'll be working in modern, purpose-built workshops equipped with advanced diagnostic systems, OEM tooling and heavy-duty infrastructure, servicing some of the latest commercial truck technology.


Your focus will be keeping heavy commercial vehicles safe, reliable and on the road.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Servicing, repairing and maintaining heavy commercial trucks
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs
  • Using OEM diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults
  • Systematically diagnosing complex mechanical issues
  • Working alongside Service Managers and senior technical staff on challenging repairs
  • Escalating specialist repairs and coordinating outwork when required
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and efficiency


What we're looking for


  • Relevant automotive trade qualification, ideally as a Heavy Diesel/Truck Mechanic
  • Proven hands-on experience working on heavy commercial trucks
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across engines, drivetrains, braking systems and chassis
  • Solid diagnostic and fault-finding capability
  • Ability to work systematically and accurately
  • Auto electrical and hydraulic experience is advantageous
  • Technicians with either strong diagnostic expertise or broad heavy diesel experience are encouraged to apply
