About us

Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) has supported early childhood education in Tāmaki Makaurau since 1908. Today, our organisation includes 112 kindergartens and KiNZ centres, and a dedicated Support Services team.

Our bicultural approach is grounded in Te Whāriki and our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Tamariki and whānau are at the heart of our work, and we provide safe, inclusive and enriching learning environments where every tamaiti can develop as a confident and capable learner.

About Glenfield Kindergarten

Whanaungatanga is at the heart of Glenfield Kindergarten. We value the relationships between tamariki, kaiako and whānau, creating an environment where every child feels seen, supported and connected. We celebrate the diverse languages, cultures and identities of our community, promoting kotahitanga and a strong sense of belonging.

As a proud Green-Gold Enviroschool, we encourage kaitiakitanga through gardening, composting, worm farming and recycling. Our strong community and local school connections support smooth transitions to primary school, while our play-based Koru Club helps tamariki develop literacy, numeracy, social confidence, problem-solving skills and independence.

About the role

As our Kindergarten Administrator, you will be part of a supportive team and work closely with kaiako, support staff, tamariki and whānau.

You will be responsible for the kindergarten’s day-to-day administration, including:

  • Managing enrolment processes
  • Supporting accounts and financial administration
  • Maintaining accurate records and information
  • Providing administrative support to the Head Kaiako and teaching team
  • Communicating professionally with whānau and the wider community

This is a permanent, part-time position for 12 hours per week, three to four days. There is flexibility around when the hours are worked, and you will work during kindergarten term time only.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have previous administration and accounts experience, preferably within an early childhood environment, although this is not essential
  • Be a confident communicator who demonstrates professionalism and maturity
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our diverse community
  • Be flexible, adaptable and willing to help where needed
  • Work collaboratively while also being able to self-manage and work independently
  • Use initiative and take responsibility for achieving positive outcomes
  • Have strong computer skills, preferably with experience using Mac
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
  • Bring a positive attitude, enjoy having fun and contribute as a supportive team member

If you are looking for an opportunity to use your administration skills in a meaningful role that offers flexibility around other commitments, we would love to hear from you.
