Senior Engineering Surveyor


Up to $175,000 AUD + superannuation + serviced vehicle

The Company


Our client is a certified 'Great Place to Work' and due to growth, they have a great career opportunity available for a Senior Engineering Surveyor to join their highly professional and skilled Survey team.


This is a full-time role working on civil infrastructure projects throughout Sunshine Coast region, working on a multi-stage TMR projects that includes field and office responsibilities, and development of junior team-members.

The Role


Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 4:30pm (50 hour per week)


Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Infrastructure project


  • Import data into system for drafting of final plans.
  • Update and keep current set out and or models and data accurate using 12D.
  • Convert digital data, and models to GPS file.
  • Accurately upload and maintain data in survey instruments and other plant and equipment.
  • Monitor and track that machines have current software, and load upgrades as required.
  • Review and assess plans for accuracy against markings and project specifications on site.
  • Plan and coordinate survey set out taking into consideration continuity of projects and utilisation of machinery and contractors.
  • Conduct all computer based / electronic calculations prior to arrival on site.
  • Comply with the company's integrated management system policies and procedures.
  • Be positive and proactive in their approach to the coaching, mentoring and training of relevant staff and identify and develop staff within the department for the benefit of the organisation and to meet future growth and needs of the company.


Essential Skills and Attributes


  • Ideally looking for people that have experience working on TMR projects, roads or highways
  • Trimble or Leica
  • 12D
  • Tertiary qualification - Surveying or Spatial Science (desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in surveying
  • Strong technical proficiency in GNSS, total station, digital level, and machine control systems,
  • with demonstrated hands-on field experience.
  • Current Driver's License
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and maintaining focus on priorities.
  • Demonstrated numeric accuracy and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual project delivery
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
