Are you an experienced People and Culture practitioner who builds strong relationships and enjoys working in complex, fast-moving environments?


We are seeking a People and Culture Business Partner to partner with leaders across two business groups to deliver strategic people outcomes. A key focus of the role will be supporting the Deliver 2030 programme, a significant transformation portfolio with a unique operating model and a substantial workforce, helping to drive organisational change and workforce success.


This permanent role is based in Wellington and will see you partner closely with executive and senior leaders across the organisation. You’ll provide pragmatic, fit-for-purpose advice, help leaders navigate people matters and risk, and contribute to workforce planning and broader organisation and programme outcomes.


Success in this role will be shaped by your ability to quickly build trust and credibility, understand the realities of a delivery-led environment, and confidently influence at senior levels. You don’t need to have held a Business Partner title previously—we’re equally open to an experienced Senior Advisor who is ready to step into a broader portfolio role.

What you bring | Nōu te rourou


This role would suit someone who brings:


  • Strong relationship-building skills and proven experience partnering with executive and senior leaders
  • Experience as a senior P&C generalist, Senior Advisor or Business Partner
  • The confidence and judgement to influence, challenge and navigate robust conversations
  • A pragmatic, adaptable approach and the ability to work through ambiguity, pace and competing priorities
  • Experience supporting a programme, portfolio or contractor-heavy workforce, or the ability to quickly understand how these environments differ from traditional operating models
  • Sound generalist P&C knowledge, with employment relations experience particularly valuable
  • An understanding of employment relations, workforce planning, organisational change, culture and remuneration
  • A collaborative and inclusive working style, with strong personal credibility
  • Experience working in a Te Ao Māori context and contributing to meaningful outcomes for Māori.

Starting salary for this position: $119,795 - $160,000 + kiwisaver
