Job Description

I'm working with a well-established transport business with a fantastic reputation in the industry , and they're looking to add a Heavy Diesel Mechanic to their team.


This is a genuine opportunity to join a business that values its people, takes pride in maintaining its fleet properly and offers a varied working environment. You'll be working with a well-maintained fleet, getting involved in everything from preventative maintenance and servicing through to fault-finding and breakdowns.


  • What you'll be doing Carrying out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance across a heavy vehicle fleet
  • Diagnosing faults and getting to the root of mechanical issues
  • Inspecting vehicles and ensuring they're safe, reliable and ready for the road
  • Completing scheduled maintenance and keeping on top of vehicle condition
  • Recording servicing, repairs and maintenance accurately
  • Attending breakdowns and assisting with roadside repairs when required
  • Working closely with the wider team to keep the fleet moving
  • Following all health and safety requirements and maintaining a high standard of workmanship


What we're looking for


  • Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification or equivalent
  • Current Class 2 licence – essential
  • Solid heavy diesel mechanical experience
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Someone who takes pride in their workmanship
  • A practical, reliable approach and good attention to detail
  • A strong focus on health and safety
  • Someone who is keen to keep learning and developing their skills
