KiNZ Ōtara is seeking a passionate, fully registered ECE Kaiako to join our dedicated teaching team in a permanent, full-time position.

This includes Māori, Tongan, Samoan, Cook Island Māori, Niuean, Fijian, Bangladeshi and Afghani tamariki and whānau.
  • Strong community connections: We work closely with local organisations, including Ōtara Network Action Group (ONAC) and the Ōtara Library. This creates rich learning experiences within and beyond the centre.
  • Healthy Heart: We work with the Heart Foundation and have achieved the Pā-Harakeke (Gold) level of the Healthy Heart Award several times. We weave healthy eating and physical activity practices sustainably into all aspects of our environment.


About you


We are looking for a kaiako who:


  • Is a fully registered and certificated ECE teacher
  • Brings warmth, energy and a sense of fun to play-based learning
  • Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the teaching team
  • Is committed to Te Whāriki, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice
  • Builds strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, colleagues and the wider community
  • Has strengths in planning, assessment and documentation
  • Uses ICT confidently as a teaching and learning tool
  • Has experience supporting effective transitions to school
  • Is reflective and committed to ongoing professional learning and development
