Job Description

Our client is one of New Zealand's leading asphalt and surfacing contractors, delivering high-quality paving, maintenance, and civil infrastructure solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.


Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Asphalt Labourer , ideally with a current Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement, to join their team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist with asphalt paving and surfacing operations
  • Shovel, rake, and level asphalt
  • Prepare work sites prior to paving
  • Operate small plant and equipment (where appropriately licensed)
  • Operate rollers and other WTR machinery as required
  • Assist with traffic management setup when needed
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow supervisor instructions and work effectively within a team
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures at all times


Skills & Experience


  • Previous asphalt, roading, or civil construction experience preferred
  • Current Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement
  • Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Class 2 Licence advantageous
  • Physically fit and capable of undertaking demanding manual work
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Flexible to work early starts and occasional overtime
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
