Got your Class 4, Hiab and Confined Space?

Put your skills to work in a hands-on civil role where you'll be doing much more than driving.


We're looking for experienced Class 4 Hiab Drivers to join a specialist civil team based in Takanini.

You'll drive to customer and project sites, operate Hiab and specialist civil equipment, and work hands-on alongside the crew to get the job done.

This isn't a driving-only position. You'll need to be physically fit, safety-focused and ready to get stuck into civil and site work when you're out of the truck.


Location: Takanini, Auckland

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $35.00 per hour (Weekly pay)

  • Key ResponsibilitiesDrive and operate Class 4 trucks safely to and from customer and project sites
  • Operate Hiab equipment safely and confidently
  • Assist with specialist civil equipment and operations, including jetting, vacuum loading and hydro excavation
  • Support groundworks, site preparation, material handling and general hands-on civil duties
  • Safely load, unload and transport equipment, materials and tools
  • Complete pre-start checks, basic equipment maintenance and required job documentation
  • Follow site procedures and maintain high Health & Safety standards at all times
  • What We're Looking ForFull NZ Class 4 driver's licence – essential
  • Current Hiab certification/licence with proven Hiab operating experience – essential
  • Current Confined Space certification – essential
  • Site Safe required; Tradestaff can assist with obtaining this
  • Current Dangerous Goods (DG) endorsement is advantageous
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on outdoor civil work
  • Reliable, safety-focused and able to work effectively as part of a crew
  • Work ConditionsHands-on civil work alongside driving and Hiab operation
  • Work across Auckland with travel outside Auckland required
  • Outdoor work in varying site conditions
  • Flexibility to assist with general site and labouring duties when required
