Kiwi Skips is a locally owned, fast growing waste and recycling company based in Invercargill. We are looking for a reliable and hard working Yard Labourer to join our team and help keep our busy yard running smoothly.


This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in keeping things tidy, and is happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.


About the role


Your day to day tasks will include:


  • Sorting construction and demolition waste for recycling
  • Keeping the yard clean, tidy and free of loose rubbish
  • Washing trucks, bins, skips and signage
  • Greeting and assisting customers at our transfer station
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Operating machinery such as forklifts, loaders or diggers (if licensed)
  • Delivering wheelie bins using a company ute
  • Assisting with general yard operations and maintenance


What we're looking for


We are looking for someone who:


  • Has a full driver's licence
  • Is physically fit and comfortable with manual work
  • Is reliable and has a hardworking, positive attitude
  • Must have the ability to work safely within a team or unsupervised
  • Is organised and able to manage their time well
  • Is comfortable working outdoors
  • Takes pride in doing a thorough job and will sort materials carefully to maximise recycling and minimise waste to landfill


Advantageous:


  • Forklift endorsement
  • Wheels, tracks & rollers endorsement
  • Experience operating loaders or diggers
