Are you a commercially driven retail leader with a passion for sport, fan engagement, and e-commerce?


Auckland FC is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead and grow our retail operations across online, match day, and event channels. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery, and is excited about creating exceptional supporter experiences while driving revenue growth.


Reporting to the Head of Retail, you'll be responsible for the performance of our online store, match day retail operations, pop-up activations, inventory management, and casual retail team leadership.


What You'll Be Doing

Leading day-to-day e-commerce operations and online trading performance

Managing product launches, promotions, merchandising, pricing, and website content

Delivering seamless match day retail operations across Auckland FC home games

Planning and executing pop-up stores and event retail activations

Managing inventory, stock forecasting, replenishment, and stock accuracy

Analysing sales performance and identifying opportunities to maximise revenue and margin

Recruiting, training, and leading casual retail staff

Ensuring an outstanding customer experience across all retail touchpoints

Collaborating with marketing and wider business teams to support commercial objectives and brand execution

Must-Haves


To be successful in this role, you'll bring:


  • Proven retail management experience with accountability for sales performance and operational delivery
  • Strong e-commerce experience, including hands-on use of Shopify
  • Experience using HubSpot or similar CRM/customer marketing platforms
  • Previous experience in sports merchandise, sporting clubs, sports retail, or fan merchandise environments
  • Experience managing retail operations in event-based, stadium, or high-volume trading environments
  • Strong stock and inventory management capability
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing casual, seasonal, or flexible workforce teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales data and drive revenue growth
  • A full driver's licence and confidence operating a van or similar vehicle
  • A clean police check for safeguarding purposes

Experience working within professional sport, entertainment, or fan-focused brands

A genuine passion for sport and understanding of supporter behaviour

Experience coordinating retail activations, pop-up stores, or event merchandising

Strong visual merchandising and presentation skills

You're energetic, organised, and commercially minded. You enjoy being hands-on, solving problems quickly, and leading from the front. You thrive in high-pressure environments and can confidently switch between strategic planning and operational execution.
