Job Description

Are you an experienced Industrial Painter with a background in marine, heavy industrial, or asset maintenance environments? We're seeking a trade-qualified professional to join a specialist painting team working on critical marine assets, infrastructure, equipment, and machinery.


This is not a residential or commercial painting role. You'll be working in a highly regulated environment where quality, safety, and precision are essential.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Prepare steel and industrial surfaces for painting
  • Perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation activities
  • Apply protective paint systems using airless spray, brush, and roller techniques
  • Read and interpret technical specifications and work instructions
  • Measure and record paint thickness and quality requirements
  • Mix and prepare paint products to manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain strict health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Work within a skilled team on marine and industrial maintenance projects


What You Need


To be considered for this role, you must have:


  • A recognised Level 4 trade qualification in Industrial Painting or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of industrial, marine, heavy engineering, or construction painting experience
  • Proven experience with abrasive blasting and industrial paint systems
  • Experience operating airless spray equipment
  • Knowledge of paint inspection and thickness testing requirements
  • A full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Security Clearance
